Retreats are all about people, first and foremost. How do we maximize the potential and known capabilities of those in leadership and do so in a way that strengthens the organization? Creating the space to connect, reflect, discuss, challenge, inspire and ultimately create and integrate change is the purpose of a retreat. There are times when every organization and team must get away and get to – get to the heart of the matter – get to really know each other – get to a paradigm shift – get to better on the way to best.
Dr. Chester is uniquely qualified to facilitate business and change oriented retreats. She is a skilled facilitator who is enjoyable and clear in style. As a Clinical Psychologist with a specialization in Industrial/organizational Psychology, she has the training to work with individuals and configurations of groups and to impact the larger organizational picture. Her every day is working with those who are striving to “get to.”
Dr. Chester has been working with people and groups professionally for over 30 years. She has led retreats both nationally and internationally for over 20 years. Some retreats are 1 day, others are longer depending on desired outcome goals. Each retreat is customized to assure maximum benefit to all involved.
Retreats facilitated by Dr. Chester typically involve participants at the C-suite, Partner or Board level. Retreat topics that she has facilitated that are people oriented include but are not limited to the following:
Team Building
Virtual Teaming/Multi-Location Teaming
Conflict Resolution
Leadership Enhancement
Communication Skills
Retreat topics that are more organizationally oriented include but are not limited to the following:
Vision, Mission, Values Development and Refinement
Internal Branding/External Branding
Strategic Formation of New Teams
Strategic Long and Short-Term Planning
Organizational Culture
Dr. Chester has distinct ideas about how retreats work best. Each participant to the degree possible, is contacted prior to the retreat to establish a working relationship. The retreat is always planned with the end in mind – what are we trying to achieve? What are the behaviors of that achievement? How will we know when that has been accomplished?
Dr. Chester also works with each organization and leadership team to ensure that the gains made during the retreat are not lost due to business demands. Without this step, a retreat, no matter how well facilitated, is incomplete. Monies, time and energy invested in the retreat are compromised. Without ongoing implementation of agreed upon actions steps, a retreat is often just a pleasant memory and time away from work.
Dr. Chester is always excited to speak to those who desire more for themselves, their team, group or their organization. Please feel free to contact her to discuss how a retreat setting could help “get to” for your team and organization.
